Know all men, that we John W. Caldwell and Robert Caldwell having obtained from Capt. Adam Scott a bill of sale for a negroe woman Ead and her child Charles, for the sum of Three hundred and seventy-five dollars; and whereas we the said J.W.C and R.C. having made the payment of the above mentioned three hundred and seventy five dollars out of the funds of the Rev.'d David Caldwell our father now deceased. We now by these presents relinquish any right to said Negroe woman and her child Charles, and a young child which she has since had, which might be derived from our purchase of said Negroe Woman Ead, and from the Bill of Sale which we obtained from said Adam Scott and by these presents do release these above named Negroe Woman and children to be subject to the directions of the last Will and Testament of our Father, now deceased - as Witness our hands and seals the day and year above written.
