By Virtue of [Lundy] Executions and to me direlicted in Manor of Joyner H. and David [Hank], Jeremiah P Horton, Abraham Ricks, [?] & John McPerson against Chadwick [Ruttonds] [?] able to Halifax auguest session 1819, the same [?] having been duly [?] on one negro man named [Quincy] advertised agreeable to law was on the 17th day of August 1819. Exposed to Public sale for ready money at the court house in Halifax Town at which sale Bartholmew Barrow became the last highest bidder in the sum of four hundred one dollars for a negro [Quincy]. The right & title to [?] negro [Quincy] thereby [?] defend unto him the Bat. Barrow his heirs and assigns forever so far as my office of sheriff will [?] no further, in witness where of & [?] Pillnay Sheriff of Halifax county have hire unto set my hand & seal this the 18 day of August 1819.
