Deed of Trust. Hamilton C. Jones has accumulated several debts, and entangled other people as securities and co-debtors. To guarantee payment and reassure his securities, in this document Jones places in Trust with Richard H. Alexander “…one negro man by the name of Tom, and the following other slaves heretofore conveyed in trust to David F. Caldwell and subject thereto to wit Creese and her children Rosella, Howell, Winna, Daniel and Bradley also a negro boy named Prince and one named Dave and a man named Cavin…” The document was signed July 20, 1829, presented in Court August 1829 and registered September 14, 1829.
