Deed in Trust. John S. Johnson indebted to several people, and the document lists the amounts with their due dates (all overdue). In order to satisfy the debt-holders, Johnson puts into Trust with Owen Hall the property where he lives, “Negro man Simon”, livestock and wagons. The property and Simon may be sold to satisfy the debts, if Johnson has not paid the debts by “June 20 (January 20?), next”. No further information about Simon or his relationships. I think some of the debt-holders are William M. Forester, L.J. Casey, Lewis Johnson, Will Moore and John Protter, and there may be others. The document was presented in Court March 29, 1852, and registered April 1, 1852.
