Mary Dowell sells to James Johnson “three Negroes one Negro man cald somphy(?) worth three hundred Dollars forty five years old one Negro woman cald Rachal worth three hundred dollars and forty years old also one negro girl cald lindy three years old worth two hundred dollars”. “somphy” (“romphy?) and “lindy” are uncapitalized in the original. No further information about the enslaved’s relationships. Ambrose Johnson also signed the document but his role is not clear.
