Deed of Gift. Delphia Bryan gives to her daughter-in-law Nancy Bryan “a certain Negro Boy named York aged about three years, the said Boy to decend to her heirs after the death of Nancy and my son John Bryan.” The gift is given in consideration “of the love and respect I have for my Daughter-in-Law Nancy Bryan and for services rendered me and my family..” No further information about York or his relationships. The document was signed January 20, 1854, and presented in Court and registered February 7, 1857.
