Bill of Sale. John Witherspoon sells to William Absher for $280 “a negro girl named Adline age 7 or 8 years old which negro I warrant to be sound and healthy…”. No further information about Adline or her relationships, and I will assume she was 7-8 in 1843. Document says it was signed February 7, 1843, and presented in Court July 17, 1857 and registered November 6, 1857, 13+years after the signing. Note that the previous entry in Book T (NC.WIL.73.2) is another Bill of Sale with the exact same 1843 and 1857 dates.
